The International Relations Office
focuses on strengthening the University’s international engagement, enhancing the mobility of staff and doctoral students, and promoting the West Pomeranian University of Technology in Szczecin on the international stage.
We are engaged in a wide range of activities, including:
- Building international relations by supporting the establishment of partnerships with universities and research institutions, and by preparing and overseeing cooperation agreements.
- Managing academic mobility through administrative and formal support for the organization of international research visits and study placements.
- Initiating participation in international projects and programmes by providing information on funding opportunities within the European Union (e.g. Horizon Europe), organizing thematic training sessions, and offering advisory services for research project applications.
- Promoting the University internationally through active participation in international events, dissemination of research achievements, and the creation of promotional materials tailored for global audiences.
- Co-organizing events involving international researchers, including support for study visits, international conferences, seminars, and meetings with foreign partners.
We coordinate activities within the framework of the European University EUNICoast,
of which the West Pomeranian University of Technology in Szczecin has been a member since 2024. EUNICoast brings together 12 universities located on islands and in coastal regions across Europe, for which the sea is not a physical boundary but a source of shared experiences, economic prosperity, and ecological balance.
We provide individual consulting and organize training sessions to support the preparation of competitive proposals for the EU Framework Programme – Horizon Europe.
Our activities focus on developing the competencies of project teams and facilitating the creation of international partnerships, enabling Polish researchers, entrepreneurs, and institutions to participate more effectively in prestigious research and development projects.
These activities are carried out within the framework of the Horizontal Contact Point for Western Poland, jointly operated with the Poznań Science and Technology Park, which supports individuals and organizations interested in conducting international projects from the Lubuskie, Greater Poland, and West Pomeranian regions.
In addition, starting in July 2025, as part of the project implemented by the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA) titled “Support for Higher Education and Research Institutions in Serving Foreign Nationals and Polish Citizens Going Abroad (FERS.01.05-IP.08-0003/24)”, the West Pomeranian University of Technology in Szczecin, together with the Poznań Science and Technology Park (the project leader), will operate the NAWA–MSCA Contact Point for Western Poland.
We are responsible for EURAXESS
After several years’ break, starting from 1 October 2025, we are resuming activities aimed at supporting the relocation of international researchers to Szczecin and the West Pomeranian region.
Through our involvement in the NAWA–EURAXESS Network, we are building an institutional environment that supports the career development and mobility of researchers across the West Pomeranian Voivodeship. Our goal is to strengthen the position of regional higher education and research institutions in the international arena.
We are also committed to facilitating administrative and legalization procedures and to fostering an open and inclusive academic community that welcomes and supports foreign researchers interested in working within the universities and research institutions of our region.
We support the implementation and coordination of activities related to the Human Resources Strategy for Researchers (HRS4R)
At the core of the European HR policy for researchers are the principles of the European Charter for Researchers. The HRS4R aims to enhance working conditions, ensure transparency, and promote best practices in recruitment. For many years, the West Pomeranian University of Technology in Szczecin has been successfully implementing the HRS4R, as confirmed by evaluations conducted by representatives of the European Commission. This process involves regular internal assessments among university staff, the development and implementation of action plans, and the continuous updating and adaptation of institutional procedures to the evolving realities of academia.
